Dear Sirs,
When the engines of the miot.orcycles show deficiencies which
presumably result from insufficient lubricating or, after
bavin~ reuaired the engine, we recommend to check the oil
pressure ..
For this purpose, a. commercia.l size pressure gauge with a
measuring ra.nge of O – 114 or 142 psi is a.ppropiate. The
pressure gauge can be connected on the blind plug M 10 x 1
below the contactor for tbe oil pressure indicator lamp
with the engine removed a.nd, directly on the contactor (also
M 10 x 1) with the engine installed.
To check the oil pressure, rotate cold engine at room temperature
– this should result in an oil pressure of 57 – 71 psi.
Furtbi::r please a.heck if oil leaks out in the area of tl1e
rocker aroo after having removed the rocker covers.
With this ~etbod, the oil circulation can be tested 100%;
deficiencies can easily be localized.
