Due to cost reduction measures effected by major insurance companies in the U.S.A.,
frame re-alignment/straightening is becoming increasingly significant in settling
insurance claims.
For years, our BMW company repair division in Munich has been involved in motorcycle
frame re-alignment work where the extent of the damage permitted such repairs.
In addition, some of these repairs are now performed by shops without any connection
to BMW, requir!ing specialized skills to reproduce the results needed, since they are
using universally applicable alignment systems, not necessarily producing the quality
or longevity required by BMW and our customers.
This has caused us to develop a new alignment system of our own. Several decades
of experience could be put to full use in the process.
The system is extremely easy to operate for all~-
It guarantees dimensional accuracy, job quality and aspect (paint work) comparable
to a new frame. A six-month warranty is granted for all repairs performed on this
BMW system. (
This BMW system is dimensionally aligned for all frames for boxers, starting with 1969
models (-/5) and will remain up to date in future applications.
We know that not all dealers can afford this system (approximately 20,000. DM) but
we do hope that, if there is nationwide dealer support, we can establish two or three
dealerships that could perform these services for all dealers nationwide.
Before doing so, we need your input and your recommendations on the enclosed questionnaire.
Thank you for your assistance.
