Instal11ng Fairing or Fuel Tank ยท,raphics ~ :Al.lยทeM odels
Problem: Decals are difficult to install. Many dealers are reluctant
to install them due to the potential of not getting the
graphics on straight.
Remedy: Following the instructions below will allow you to position
the decals properly. The instructions are for installation
of Kl graphics, which are the most difficult to install.
However, the same instructions will apply to all decals.
ยท.โข – Wash and dry the motorcycle

…. .
Make a mild solution of liquid soap and water in a spray
bottle. (The key here is a weak mixture, i.e., a small
amount of soap.)
Spray the right or left lower fairing with this solution
Peel the brown, waxy paper s-ide o.f the decal away from the
graphic.
– Be ~areful not to allow the graphic to contact any dirt or
to contact itself.
Align the notches of the decal with the lower air scoop 9n
the fairing.
Lay the decal in position, maintaining the alignment with
the air scoop and bottom edge of the air vent.
– Work all air bubbles out, using your fingers (only work
the bubbles from the decal strip). Don’t worry if the
decal moves slightly; the soapy water will allow you to
slide the decal into the exact position later.

.,
If the decal moves around while you are pressing out the air
bubbles, then you have used too much soap in your solution.
– Open ends of the decal must overlap.
– Once the air bubbles are pressed out, allow the decal to adhere to
the fairing. Drying time will depend on the amount of soap used –
approximately 20 – 30 minutes should be enough.
Peel the white paper slowly back, at the same time pressing any air
bubbles from the decal. Once the white paper backing is removed,
the decal will begin to dry and will be permanently in position ..
– Once you are certain the decal is in place and securely attached,
clean the lower fairing with water, dry thoroughly, and apply a coat
of liquid wax – Part No. 82 14 9 400 134
