Damaged/Bent Brake Disc Rotors
Complaint:
Cause:
Note:
Pulsation of front brake lever during slow speed/coming
to a stop. Generally occurring between 5,000 and 9,000
mil es.
Disc Rotors being damaged during tire changes or
wheel removal, transportation or storage.
Tire Changes – Improper/careless handling of wheel
removal, bead breaking and tire mounting.
Transportation – Improper/careless handling of wheel
removal by customer. When wheel is transported in a
vehicle for tire change, brake disc is subjected to
side loading as disc is wider than tire edge. Wheel
should be supported so that disc does not contact
trunk or other objects.
Storage – When wheels are stored at your dealership
awaiting customer pick-up, ensure that the discs are
protected from side loads/impact.
Disc Rotors are designed to withstand tremendous
rotational load, but are not designed to withstand side
loads as described above.
Repairs from damage/abuse as described above are not
defects in materials or workmanship and therefore are not
warrantable.
