Kl/Kr/Nab;Technical Information , 2/74 (1.63 M) e • Group: 23 – Gearbox ———‘——- Re: Shifting the 5-speed Gearbox Gentlemen: If pawl spring number 23 31 1 231 619 breaks, the O.D. boss of the segment number 23 31 1 231 578 should be reduced fro~ 16 mm /0.6299″ to 15.5 mm/0.6102 11 • The reason for this spring failure ist the too large diameter boss which is soldered into the segment and which houses the spring. In case of complaint, we recommend to exchange the operating pawl spring and se~ent for new parts if there is no possibility to reduce the 0;1?>to 15.5 mm/0.6102″. Additionally, the spring.ts ( resistance against failure was increased by using a superior quality material (II DINI 17223 spring wire). :, Repair instruct;ions: ( 1) Remove gearbox; ‘ (2) remove gearbox cover; (3) remove bearing bracket; (4) remove selector discs: ( 5) pull shift segment and spring Work required: 32 flat rate units.
