If the clutch is properly adjusted and the clutch lever and cable operate smoothly, check the measurement of the piston at the back of the gearbox. Diameter max. 28. 7 mm The diameter of the piston must not exceed 28.7 nm (measured at room temperature). If this dimension is exceeded at any point, the piston must be machined or replaced. When assembling the parts, check that the metal washer which is laminated to the rubber boot has not come loose and torn the rubber. Smooth clutch operation is also dependent upon a properly 1~bricated clutch spline/input shaft and smooth, full contact of the friction lining and pressure plates (look for high spots/poor engagement).
