There are various patterns of fuel taps on our motorcycles; if repair work is necessary, the instructions below should be followed: 1. Fuel taps of the earlier pattern, on which the plug was secured by a threaded disc with radial slot but without a knurled edge, usually still incorporate a cork gasket. On more recent fuel taps with a knurled outer edge to the threaded disc, the plug is held against the seal by a coil spring.
