Subj.: Oil leakages around the chain case cover Dear Sirs, On a limited-numb~r of motorcycles the three studs to seeure tb.e chain case cever have been installed with Curil, instead of Loctite. Only on these machines it h.a.s been stated in r…avoi·a.l cases that oil leaks out, especially through th.e two upper holes of the studs . .•., . To step the trouble, remove th.e chain case cover (see ( workshop manual, pages 11-14/1) and, operating from below, apply a 2 mm hole in:to each .. through hole of the studs inside of the,6hain case cover (see figure). By means of this measure, the oil pressure lasting on the through holes will be diverted into the interior of the housing. The engine needs not to be removed for this operation.
