RE: INSTALLATION OF THE OIL FILTER HOUSING CANISTER
Dear Dealer:
With the introduction of the R65 and change in the oil
passages on all motorcycles beginning in 1980, it is
possible in isolated cases that a small oil pressure
drop can occur.

The distance between the oil filter cover surface and
the face of the oil filter canister sleeve should be
as referenced in the line drawing. Excessive clearance
will cause a poor seal between the cover and canister
sleeve and oil pressure will be reduced or fail.
