Tightening Torque – {All Boxer Models – 1981 on)
For USA Only
Information: In a few isolated cases, loose or insufficiently torqued
bolts have been detected.
Change: Previously, the tightening torque was:
Note:
73 ft/lb or 100 Nm
The tightening torque has been increased to:
90 ft/lb or 125 Nm
– Clean the threads on the bolts and in the crankshaft.
– Apply a light coating of engine oil prior to
torqueing.
These expansion bolts will not reach their limit of
elasticity at this torque. Therefore, they can be
re-used.
