Remove the adjuster brackets from the shield via the three philips screws in each bracket. 2. Lubricate the nipples of the rubbe~ gasket with silicone spray or other suitable product, insert the bolt-bracket in the center two holes of the shield, then position shield and pull the gasket nipples through the holes with the aid of a needle-nose pliers. 3. Insert a-rings between shield and fairing on bolt-bracket studs, then secure to the fairing via two MS nylock nuts (this can be easily accomplished using an 8mm ignition wrench, turning the wrench through the opening provided by removing the parking light lens.) ( 4. Trim the nipples from the inside of the two outer most shield holes; afix the adjuster brackets but do not tighten completely. 5. Loosen the 6mm bolts holding the mirror foot and securing plate that the adjuster secures to, note one bolt is hidden up behind the cockpit cowling each side. 6. Insert two screws into the plastic cover plate with the slot up, then place the detent lever between the screws, then the plastic spacer. Screw assembiy to the securing plate—CAUTION— do not over tighten screws as plastic spacer may be crushed. 7. Adjust shield to the highest position. Now, tighten all bolts that secure the mirror foot and securing plate and finally the screws on the shield adjuster bracket. Insert the rubber sleeves that cover the detent lever; a touch of glue will help retain the covers for future use.
