Domestic and Abroad SUBJECT: Hazard Warning Flashers We are offering now for our /6 motorcycles a hazard warning flasher system as an attachment, Part No. 61 31 1 243 077 in order to give riders an opportunity to make their motorcycld safer in road traffic and to warn other road users in case of breakdown. Below please find an installation instruction (wiring diagram enclosed} according.to which the system can be correctly installed (against charge). 1. Remove fuel tank. 2. Dismantle the headlight unit. 3. Pull out the main harness grommet from the headlight housing downwards. 4. ·Route line 61 12 1 243 071 of the hazard warning flasher system through the main harness grommet starting with the eight individual flat-type connectors. ( 5. connect the blue/black and blue/red cable with the corresponding terminals of the connector plate within the h~adlight housing (connecting same colours with same colours). 6. Pull green/yellow flasher switch cable o:ff the flasher terminal 49a, push on insulating sleeve, connect with the attached short green/yellow warning flasher line end and plug onto 49a. 7. Pull the green/black motorcycle main harness cable off flasher terminal 49, push on insulating sleeve and plug onto appropriate side of the diode provided. Connect the red and the two brown cables ending in a flat plug sleeve with terminals 30 or 31 on the plug board; connect same colors with same colors. 10. After all necessary connections in the headlight housing are made, push the harness grommet into its bore. 11. Run the warning flasher line parallel with the main harness and connect with the two cable straps provided in the area of the lower fork bridge. 12. Run the line branch which is connected with the multiple plug parallel with the speedometer shaft upwards and mount it in the area of the steering lock, using a cable strap. 13. Mount the housing of the hazard warning flasher with the two clamps provided in the middle of the handlebar tube towards the front of the motorcycle. 14. Slide the warning flasher switch into the housing and connect multiple plug with th.e warning flasher line. Slide the protective cap over the push button. 15. Run the line branch with the four cable ends parallel to the main harness on the lefthand side of the oval frame main tube. Plug the four flat sleeves into the relay provided as follows: Green/violet – terminal 87 Green/black – terminal 85 Red Brown – terminal 30 – terminal 86 16. Remove the right mounting bolt of the starter relay on the lefthand side of the frame. Mount strap 61 13 1 243 072 (belongs to the scope of delivery) with an MS x 8 mushroom head bolt, spring disc and nut to the warning flasher relay so that the relay sheet strap is backed up by the upright twist protection of the mounting strap. 17. After having unscrewed the bolt, mount the starter relay together with the relay which has a. :;trap beside the starter relay. ··3- I I S.I. 61 001 77(1010R) – 3 – 18. Checking the operation: when the hazard warning flasher is switched on, flashing must continue when ignition is switched off. When the hazard warning flasher is switched off afterwards, it can only be put into operation again when the ignition is switched on. 19. Install the headlight unit: install the fuel tank. Time required! Approx. one~hour.
