Subject: Correct Front Fork Springs
Whenever a sagging front fork end is suspect of incorrect
or sagging fork springs, please remove fork springs and
measure the free length as follows:
R 50/5 – R 100 S free length = 567 mm (22-21/64 11 )
โข *R 100 RS – R 100 RT – free length = 54 3 mm ( 21-25/64 11 )
R 65
*heavy duty
free length = 4.90 mm (19-19/64″)
The above are minimum lengths. . ….._..’. .

Maximum length on all = above length + ..1 2 mm(,ยท1ยท/? .’.~). โข.
Caution: Standard correct length– springs ,.~areยท des:i..gried -for
optimum handling characteristยฑcs, whenever -additional
weight (full fairings, etc.) is ยทadded 6nยทtoยทtheยทfront
end of the motorcycle, change the front f-ork springs
on all models except- the R 65, ยทR ยท10.0~:ยทโข:R..S a rid R 100 RT.
Please install the heavy duty (543 mm} front fork
spring available under โข
Part No. 31 42 1 232 017
Note: Heavy duty springs for the R 65 ~~e, at present, not
available.
