calcite-on-exhaust-pipes-170-291-970

Technical Customer bervice VK~-20 Gi/S SERVIINCFEO RMATION Motorcycle 1- + 2-cylinder models Gr.: Frame Mlinchen, Sept. 1970 n. 1/70 (291) en. Subj.: Calcite on exhaust pipes Dear Sirs, To remove calcite – it deposits especially on the bottom part of the exhaust pipes, resulting from water sprays – we tested various products in our laboratory. The product VP 2693 proved especially effective. It is a rust remover paste, produced by the company Metallgesellschaft AG Frankfurt Reuterweg 14 which, in spite of a reaction period of several days, did not attack the basic metal of the corresponding parts. The duration for the use of the paste depends on the thickness of the calcite and so varies from case to case. After h8ving removed the calcite, the paste has to be washed off carefully so that the corrosive phosphoric acid, contained in this product, will not attack the chrome plating.
