Elspeth Beard probably the most famous R60/6 still in circulation. If you are not familiar with her, she was the first British woman to circle the globe on a motorcycle but thatโ€™s only part of her story. Sheโ€™s also an accomplished architect and still active in the motorcycle scene in the UK. Many of you have read her book, Lone Rider and if not, a good one to put on the to do list for sure. Elspeth still owns and rides the 60/6 among a few other bikes, so weโ€™ll chat about that lessons from her trip and a number of airhead topics this week on the program.

Also this week, our first in a series of Tech Talks with William Plam from Boxer 2 valve. Our topic this week, brake systems on the Type 247.

About

In this series, weโ€™ll be talking with independent mechanics, product developers and aficionados of the classic airhead BMW motorcycles, produced from 1970 to 1995, also known as the โ€œType 247 boxer.โ€ If youโ€™re an airhead rider, youโ€™ll recognize nearly all of our guests in this series. If youโ€™re generally a motorcycle enthusiast, this a great opportunity to add some knowledge to your database and enjoy some great motorcycle talk.
