Elspeth Beard probably the most famous R60/6 still in circulation. If you are not familiar with her, she was the first British woman to circle the globe on a motorcycle but that’s only part of her story. She’s also an accomplished architect and still active in the motorcycle scene in the UK. Many of you have read her book, Lone Rider and if not, a good one to put on the to do list for sure. Elspeth still owns and rides the 60/6 among a few other bikes, so we’ll chat about that lessons from her trip and a number of airhead topics this week on the program.

Also this week, our first in a series of Tech Talks with William Plam from Boxer 2 valve. Our topic this week, brake systems on the Type 247.

About

In this series, we’ll be talking with independent mechanics, product developers and aficionados of the classic airhead BMW motorcycles, produced from 1970 to 1995, also known as the “Type 247 boxer.” If you’re an airhead rider, you’ll recognize nearly all of our guests in this series. If you’re generally a motorcycle enthusiast, this a great opportunity to add some knowledge to your database and enjoy some great motorcycle talk.
