( ( BMW MOTORRAD GMBH Motorcycle R60/7 – Rl00RS Munich, Sept.77 Service ‘1 echnic R-VK-12 DA-ST Ceneral Electric 61 002 77( 1035R) For U.S.A. and Canada only Subject: Starter and Horn Relay. Dear Dealer, Exchanging or switching both identical looking relays could result in discharging the battery even if the ignition switch is shut off. Please note the identification and Part No. Starter Relay, Part No. 61 31 1 243 207 (Bosch No. 0 332 014 118) Horn Relay, Part No. 61 31 1 354 393 (Bosch No. 1 332 014 406) Bosch numbers are stamped on the relay covers. Avoid installing 2 starter relays in series, or foregoing results could happen. Test method for this is: 1.) Disconnect the battery cable, touch the battery post a couple of times, if a click is noticed the relays are both starter relays. A starter and horn relay correcrly installed will not produce a clicking sound. 2.) If relays are interchanged, the engine will not start. 3.) If 2 horn relays are mounted, the engine will not start.
