Service Department 13 Fuel Supply ·•Adjustment August 1990 13 020 90 (2414) For USA Only Carburetor Vibration – 1988 1100 Complaint: Problem: Remedy: Warranty Status: Presence of fuel stains on the outside of the carburetor and float bowl. This could occur when engine is running at certain higher rpm’s. The carburetor can vibrate at certain speeds (usually high-speed), causing an increase in the fuel level in the float bowl. First, ensure that float bowl gasket is in good condition, that no contaminants are present in float bowl, and that fuel level is to specificatiqn. If the items mentioned above are all correct, then install carburetor mounting rubber tubes 113 72 l 254 654 in place of the stock tubes 113 72 1 338 360. These tubes have a different rubber density which will reduce carburetor vibration.
