It is recommended when carrying out repair or service jobs to check whether the flywheel makes even contact with the crankshaft journal, and whether the bolts, threads, and plane surfaces of the crankshaft and flywheel are free from dirt and grease which is absolutely necessary. (CAUTION – in case the shaft sealing ring is greasy.) Fluid nut locks like Loctite should by no means be used.
