Repair Manual Change Sheets
Enclosed are eight lilue sheets which contain all c:hanges
in specifications and service procedures relating to

Emissions Tester
Part of the service procedures leading to correct emission standards
involves the setting of the CO (Carbon Monoxide) emissions
level at idle. This test requires the use of an emissions tester
capable of determining the percent(%) of carbon monoxide present
in the exhaust gases. At the present time only CO has to be

checked, but a dual instrument, measuring both CO (Carbon Monoxide)
and HG (Hydrocarbons) is a requirement in the next few years. In
addition to setting proper emissions levels, these instruments
can be very useful to the mechanic in determining ignition irregularities,
oil consumption, blowby, and leaking valves as well as
insuring more accurate carburetion adjustment.
Enclosed are brochures from two manufacturers of emissions testing
equipment that we can recounnend. If you wish to purchase one,
