Service-Informatio&n Group 61 March Bulletin No.: General Electrics 1980 61 006 80(2018) – For U.S.A. and Canada Only – Subject: Installation Instructions for R 65 Four-Way Flasher Kit Part Number 61 31 1 243 885 1. Inventory parts in accordance with the parts identification picture. 2. Remove gas tank, right battery panel, and instrumentation back cover. 3. At the instnunent panel remove the rectangular cover located directly between the speedometer and tachometer. Install the dust cover (2) on the four-way flasher actuation switch (1). Evenly coat the bottom of the dust cover (2) with a small amount of glue. Insert the switch and dust cover into the hole between the speedometer and tachometer until the bottom of the dust cover is fully seated against the instrment cluster housing. 4. Route the wiring harness and plug connector (8A) up past the right side ( of the steering head to the rear of the instnnnents and insert the plug .(8A) into the actuation switch (1). S. From the steering head route the harness under the multi-plug connection panel and insert the light brown connection plug (BB) of the harness into the connection panel plug of the same color code. 6. Continue routing the harness under the voltage regulator and three (3) relays. Behind the third relay is an extra hole for mounting a relay base. Using the supplied Snnn screw and washer mount thP. relay base (8C) at this location. Plug in the provided relay (4). 7. Route the remaining harness behind the ignition coii ai.7.dd own the frame tube on the right side to the bottom of the fuse box. An extra hole will be found on the bottom of the fuse box through which the harness is to be routed and the provided gronnnet inserted. 8. Connect the green/violet wire to the end of the diode (3) to which the arrow on the diode points. 9. Remove the flasher relay from its base and unscrew the base from its mounting. Remove the double green/black wires from the relay base (Terminal 49). Install the provided terminal insulator on the connector of the green/black wires and plug this connector into the diode on the end opposite the direction of the arrow. ยทL) Please route and initial before filing ( – 2 – Bulletin No.: 61 006 80(2018) 10. Plug the blue/yellow wire from the four-way flasher harness into the flasher relay base in the same location from which the green/black wires were removed (Tenninal 49). 11. Remount the flasher relay base and flasher relay. Using the five (5) cable ties, secure the four-way flasher harness in appropriate locations. 12. Reinstall the gas tank, battery panel and instn.unent cover. 13. Test the system.
