Chip’s R100S Last Edition (California Variant)

In 1984 BMW saw the new K Series as the future and as a replacement for the (somewhat) fading popularity of the classic 2 valve Boxer. With that BMW North America released the “last edition” R100 variants. The R100RS Last Edition is the model most 247 fans are familiar with. However there were a few R100S California variants, as seen here. In the bottom of the BMW 1000cc LAST EDITION box it reads: “R100CS is designated as R100S in California. Models in California will vary slightly in color scheme”
