As a motorcycle aficionado let’s assume it’s a safe bet you scour the internet looking at bikes for sale–probably on a daily basis. Recently one website has gained a ton of traffic and always seems to have some very presentable classics for sale, thatโ€™s Bring a Trailer. Now, this episode is not about BaT necessarily but about a fella called David Lee who has listed and sold nearly a dozen classic airheads over the past 3 or 4 years on BaT. โ€จโ€จ

Iโ€™ve always been impressed with his offerings and attention to detail on the bikes he lists. I met David when he contacted me about a 76 60/6 I had for sale a few years back. He did not buy the bike but we ended up having a great phone chat and found out we had additional concentric circles, aside from our love of classic BMWs—that was our history as touring musicians. Weโ€™ll explore Davidโ€™s history as a musician, how he got started with airheads and chat about his philosophy of buying and selling classic bikes.
