Hand initialed from the factory (inside fairing, above) almost a sure sign the paint is original. I found this bit of info from a R90S page, regarding the signature; “my 1975 R90S #4083287 has the same initials its actually SR. I inquired to BMW to see if they could identify the pinstriper and from memory I was told her name was Sonja Roxenburg.“

On the Road with the 90S

eBay sourced rear cowl & seat for just $200 (great buy and price!!!) Mystery black paint on this spare seat/cowl. I bought this as an extra to mount the back rest and take the use and abuse on road trips. The original seat/cowl was tucked away safely—see workbench in background, below.
